About the Author
My name
is David Fetrow. Not the best picture, but it is the only one I have that I am not
in shorts and a tee shirt. This blog came to be from a deep passion to give people
hope and a genuine feeling that there is a better way of life. As a child I could
not help but make people laugh. Doing so found my way several times to the principal’s
office. At the time I did not know that that small gift of happiness that I strived
to give my friends and family would grow into a deep passion to help people. All
through high school and college, I searched out people that would listen to me.
Somewhere along the way, I lost that passion and became self absorbed with satisfying
myself.
I used money, sex, alcohol, and the pursuit of personal gains to find happiness.
Needless to say, those pursuits only dug a hole deep with anger and despair. Then
one summer day it hit me. As I was sitting in traffic screaming at the top of my
lungs at the person in front of me to do something about this traffic mess, I noticed
myself in the mirror, mouth wide open, looking like someone just pulled a thorn
out of my ass. At that moment, I started to do something that would change my life.
I started to THINK.
In my writings, you will not find a quick and dirty way to be happy, fulfilled,
and worry free. There are no quick fixes to life. Life is a path, a journey you
must take. On that journey you will come across many rocks and a few boulders. It
is your choice what to do with those obstacles. You can choose to follow the path,
oblivious to what you see, or you can pick those stones up and walk around the boulders.
Here’s what I’m saying: Most people put their lives on auto pilot. They ignore their
feelings and surroundings to just make it through life in the easiest possible way.
If that is the way you want to live your life, then this is not the blog for you.
If you want to turn yourself off auto pilot and take charge of your life, you are
welcome here. This path is filled with stones and boulders in the beginning, but
as you walk, you will find your path to be smoother and more enjoyable. I am not
saying that you will not find these stone and boulders along the way. You will just
be more equipped to deal with them.
Be a constant learner of life. When you want to learn about something in your daily
life, say a job or just want to bake a cake. You open a book, listen to a tape,
or watch someone instruct you how to complete the task. You need to do this with
life. I encourage you from this moment on to be a student of life. Let my blog be
one of many ways you enrich your life. I have a learning section on this blog. You
will find a collection of works to accomplish your tasks in life. You can click
here to go there.
Thanks for reading. I hope I can touch your life in a tremendous way. My mother
always says to me when I leave her, “May God be with you and the angels guide you”.
